Expressions Art for God’s Sake: Finding Love on Christmas

This is a Christmas issue of “Expressions Art for God’s Sake,” and its title is “Expressions Art for God’s Sake: Finding Love at Christmas.” The faith expression artworks are based on Bible verses Luke 2:8-11 which contain “the good news of great joy,” the news about the birth of mankind’s savior, Jesus Christ. It is about Christmas which is the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, and it is celebrated, joyously, around the world.

In the NRSVACE translation, the verses Luke 2:8-11 go this way: “In that region there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; for see – I am bringing you good news of great joy for all the people: to you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is the Messiah, the Lord.’” In the NIVUK translation, the same verses are translated in this manner: “And there were shepherds living out in the fields near by, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.’”
