The Beatitudes, also known as the Sermon on the Mount, are an essential part of the teachings of Jesus. They are the blueprint for Christian social action and social justice. They are intended to help one’s neighbor in need. They are meant to assist and to serve the neglected, the oppressed individuals and the most vulnerable.
