The Suffering Servant of God

The article contains a gallery of faith expression artworks or images about the suffering servant of God, who is Jesus Christ. The faith expression artworks are based on several Bible verses, with Isaiah 52:13-15 as the main reference. The other Bible verses that served as bases for the making of the faith expression artworks are Isaiah 53:5, Luke 23:32-34, John 19:16-18 and John 19:32-34.

Isaiah 52:13-15 - “Behold, my servant will prosper; he will be exalted and raised to great heights. Just as many people recoiled at the sight of him – he was so disfigured that he no longer appeared to be human – so will he startle many nations, and kings will be speechless before him. For they will see what they had not been told, and they will contemplate what they had not previously heard.”
Isaiah 53:5 - “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
Luke 23:32-34 - “Two others, both criminals, were led out to be executed with him. When they came to a place called The Skull, they nailed him to the cross. And the criminals were also crucified – one on his right and one on his left, Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.’”
John 19:16-18 - “So they took Jesus away. Carrying the cross by himself, he went to the place called Place of the Skull (in Hebrew, Golgotha). There they nailed him to the cross. Two others were crucified with him, one on either side, with Jesus between them.”
John 19:32-34 - “So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man and then of the other who had been crucified with him. However, when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one of the soldiers thrust a lance into his side, and immediately a flow of blood and water came forth.”
